For the short and mid-term outlooks a reduced grow rate in the worlds energy demand is unlikely. The increased demand for fossil resources will therefore be accompanied by further growing operating prices for conventional power plants, eventually paving the way for commercially competitive renewable energy sources. To make these new technologies ready for development , early staged research and development are critical.
